Color swatchesI found it easy to mix the color swatches because the tools provided allowed you to easily control the amount of paint being combined. By mixing them on a separate sheet of paper I could control the color I was creating. This was also my most helpful warm up because it taught me how to mix colors and create different shades. shades of brownWe made the shades of brown by mixing orange and blue together. By starting with orange and adding small amounts of blue we were able to control the shade of brown we were creating. monochromatic imageI chose to paint this picture of myself from Walt Disney World because I thought it would be fun and easy. I didn't realize how difficult it was to paint yourself. I ended up using different shades of red and pink to paint the picture. In the future, I probably wouldn't paint myself again.
Pencil drawingI found that the pencil was the easiest medium to work with. If there was something I drew that I didn't like then I could easily just erase it. It didn't smear, and you could blend the graphite easily with the blending stumps to create shadows and add value to the drawing. Charcoal drawingI think that the charcoal was the hardest medium to work with. I didn't like how messy it was and the sound that it made when I tried to cover a large piece of paper. I did like how easy it was to blend and add value to my art. Pen drawingI think that the pen was also an easy medium to use. I did prefer pencil the most, but this one was also a favorite. My only con of it would be that if you mess up, you can't erase the pen. So every mark that you make needs to be perfect and that makes me nervous when drawing. Favorite Warm up - spheresI found that the warm ups that we did with pencil and the oil pastel were the most helpful for me. They taught me how to blend and add value to my art. Composition - The placement or arrangement of visual elements or ingredients in a work of art, as distinct from the subject.
Value - The lightness or darkness of tones or colors. White is the lightest value; black is the darkest. |
